Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On December 1, 1991, the first nationwide presidential elections were held in Kazakhstan. Following their results, N.A. Nazarbayev was elected President of the country, who received the absolute support of the people.

   In his speech at the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, N. Nazarbayev said: “Not every generation falls to the lot to be witnesses and participants in such grandiose historical changes that you and I are going through. The idea that unites us and leads us forward is the construction of a free sovereign democratic state. In fact, the citizens of the republic voted for it on December 1, for the first time in the thousand-year Kazakh history, popularly electing their President. "

   Today we can say with confidence that the concepts of "Independence" and "Elbasy" are inextricably linked, since all the key achievements of sovereign Kazakhstan are the result of its activities as the leader of the country.

    The main and indisputable achievements of Elbasy's state policy include the construction of a modern state with a market economy and a stable political system, international legal registration of borders, the creation of an effective model of interethnic and interfaith harmony, the development and implementation of long-term development strategies "Kazakhstan-2030" and "Kazakhstan- 2050 ", etc.

     In the article “Lessons of a Historical Personality”, the Head of State KK Tokayev noted: “Nursultan Abishevich is an outstanding statesman and a unique reformer who is rightfully recognized and respected by the entire world community, who has managed to look beyond the horizon of tomorrow! This is a great personality who created the history of an independent country with his own hands! Thanks to Elbasy, Kazakhstan has become an authoritative and successful member of the international community. "

     In recognition of the historical merits of N.A. Nazarbayev, a public holiday was established in 2011 - the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

    For the festive date, the 30th anniversary of the first national presidential elections, the Elbasy Library prepared a video dedicated to the founder of independent Kazakhstan - the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev.
