The symbol of economic independence of Kazakhstan, which consolidated the foundations of statehood, is the Kazakhstani tenge. The national currency was introduced by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on November 15, 1993.
Domestic artists worked on the design of the tenge, who depicted on the front side of banknotes the historical figures of the Kazakh people who made an outstanding contribution to the cultural, spiritual and political development of Kazakhstan. On the reverse side there are natural and architectural landmarks of the country.
In one of the halls of the Museum of the Elbasy Library, dedicated to the national currency, visitors have the opportunity to see symbols and objects on banknotes using augmented reality technology.
In addition, the archive of the institution contains a video recording of a historical event - an address by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev to the people on November 12, 1993 in connection with the introduction of the tenge.
The footage of this newsreel was included in the video, which the Elbasy Library prepared for the significant date - November 15 - the Day of the National Currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On the same day, employees of the financial system of Kazakhstan celebrate their professional holiday.
