In JSC "National Center of Neurosurgery" conducted a unique operation to remove intramedullary spinal tumor using the state-of-the-art equipment. The unique operation was conducted mutually with the US experts. During a few days they will work together with our doctors. Surgery to remove the spinal cord tumor lasts several hours, and during that time the surgeons perform the real jewelry work. According to doctors, tumor is in the vital centers of the spinal cord. The task of surgeons is not just to remove it, but do not damage the nervous system of the patient. In this regard they use the neuromonitoring: they connect the nerves to microcontacts, and their signals are presented on the monitor. Thus, they can reduce the risk of postoperative complications.
