Yesterday, members of the Commission on Human Rights under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by Chairman Kuanysh Sultanov visited JSC "Republican Research Center for Neurosurgery". The reason to attend medical and research organization which is the inpatient hospital for treatment of people from Astana and residents of other regions of Kazakhstan was familiarization with the terms of the treatment of patients. Committee members were interested in whether the patients' rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On people's health and the health care system", the international obligations of our country in the field of human rights protection are observed in the Center. The event was held in accordance with the Work Plan of the Commission on Human Rights under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2013. This year, the Center celebrated its fifth anniversary. It provides high-quality neurosurgical care through advanced technology, international standards of quality of care and international management in this area. There is also conducted the applied research in the field of neurosurgery, and on their basis implemented effective treatments, modern forms of organization of neurosurgical care. In addition, the Center carries out scientific and methodological activities and retraining of specialists in the field of neurosurgery. “Commission on Human Rights under the President of Kazakhstan is considering the various issues of constitutional rights of our citizens” - said Kuanysh Sultanov. One of the most important areas is the provision of medical services to the citizens of our country. He stressed that the Center for Neurosurgery in Astana is the largest not only in our country but also in the CIS. "Having such a solid base, the state is able to provide guaranteed health care" - said Kuanysh Sultanov. During the conversation with doctors and hospital patients, members of the Commission on Human Rights, paid special attention to ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens to health care and qualified medical assistance, social and legal protection of physicians and other health professionals, and discussed the possibility of improving their skills in foreign countries. After the visit, members of the Committee recommended to extend the positive experience of JSC "Republican Research Center for Neurosurgery" in other medical institutions of the country. The collected materials will be included in the part of "Constitutional right to health care and qualified medical assistance" annual report of the Head of State "On the human rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan."
