Head of the Department of Spinal Neurosurgery of the Republican Research Center for Neurosurgery Talgat Kerimbayev is a worthy representative of a large team of professionals. The furhter path was determined by the meeting with Serik Akshulakov, the present head of the RRCN, who may be said, was his "godfather" in neurosurgery, helped the young specialist to find himself and to follow his path. “I was very lucky that in the beginning of my way I met such an exceptional person and professional, as Prof. Serik Akshulakov, so when he invited me to work in the new Center of Neurosurgery in Astana, I did not doubt”, - says Talgat. – “Moreover that was an excellent opportunity for self-develop and to contribute to the development of neurosurgery in Kazakhstan. Before we begin to work in the RRCN, my colleagues and I went to specialize in leading clinics in Israel and saw how that area developed in the world. We wanted to return to our homeland and to raise domestic neurosurgery at the same high level. The result of hard work of Neurosurgery Center for 5 years was the unique scientific work "Development of high-tech innovative treatments of neurosurgical pathology in the Republic of Kazakhstan", which was represented for the State Prize of Kazakhstan in the field of science and technology in 2013”. Specialists of spinal neurosurgery and pathology of the peripheral nervous system introduced a number of innovative technologies, such as minimally invasive way to remove tumors of the spine and spinal cord, the technique of microsurgical removal of intramedullary tumors and so on. Department won a grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of the RK for the development of algorithms for surgical treatment of degenerative diseases of the spine. Each year, the Department conducts 700 operations of any complexity, and Dr. Talgat Kerimbayev participates almost in half of them. Work of neurosurgeons is certainly hard not only physically but also mentally, but as a true follower of Hippocrates, he did not even think about it - as long as there are sick people, the doctor's duty is to help them. A native of Almaty Dr. Talgat Kerimbayev became a resident of the capital only 5 years ago, but has already managed to fall in love with this city. “Astana is the dynamic, positive city he said.
