From March 29 to April 1, 2016 within 4 working days there took place versatile scrupulous check of the center by the independent international commission – the auditor-doctor from the USA, MD, the master of sciences from Harvard university Patricia O-Shay; the nurse, the master of sciences from the USA En Watkins and the administrator, the doctor of philosophy on patient safety Ozl Yyldyry from the Netherlands. All activity of clinic – work of doctors, the average and younger medical personnel, the administrative block, engineering and not health services has been checked. Let's remind that JSC National Center of Neurosurgery in 2013 has received this accreditation for the first time. But the period of action of the certificate on the international accreditation according to the JCI standards makes three years. After end of this period for confirmation of compliance of quality of medical services the medical institution has to pass re-accreditation. Besides, in interval between accreditations, experts of JCI carry out supervising checks behind activity of the accredited organizations. It is quality assurance and safety of the provided services at any stage of medical care. It is known that JCI is the largest international organization for accreditation of medical institutions. Inspectors of JCI pay attention to all aspects of ensuring quality and safety of medical care, including surveys and treatment of the doctor, departure of the nurse, surgical safety, features of treatment and care of patients of group of risk, the treatment of medicines, training of patients, infectious control, safety of the building and engineering and utility systems, work of department of management of human resources, work improvement methods, risk management, management of information and the statistical analysis of data, analysis of medical mistakes and acceptance of the adjusting measures, situation and level of culture of safety in collective. If to compare these standards to other standards of the quality system (ISO 9001, EFQM, awards on quality), the JCI standards are the most difficult, hard-hitting and are specially developed for the medical organizations. By preparation for this accreditation, the medical institution in many respects reviews and improves the work. Therefore it is not about bureaucratic procedure, and about the next step of development of the medical organization. In total in the world about 600 hospitals conform to the JCI standards. In Kazakhstan today according to the JCI standards 7 medical organizations, in the former Soviet Union are accredited: in the Russian Federation – 2, in Lithuania – 3, in Moldova – 1. Receiving repeated international accreditation of JCI confirms focus of the National center of neurosurgery on the high quality standards and safety of treatment that allows Kazakhstan citizens to receive high-quality medical services, without leaving out of country borders.
