Today, on the final day of the program, the International Scientific and Practical Medical Forum is taking place in Tashkent, where Prof. Serik Akshulakov, CEO of National Center for Neurosurgery, Professor, and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, delivered a presentation. In his report, Serik Kuandykovich highlighted the activities and achievements of the National Center for Neurosurgery, discussed the implementation of advanced technologies, and shared experience in using the Gamma Knife radiosurgery system — the only one in Central Asia. This technology is used to treat tumors, vascular, and functional brain disorders, providing high precision and minimally invasive interventions.During the forum, a memorandum of cooperation was also signed between the National Center for Neurosurgery (Kazakhstan) and the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Neurosurgery (Uzbekistan). The agreement aims to strengthen partnerships in stereotactic Gamma Knife treatment and improve access to high-tech medical care for patients in Uzbekistan.
Beyond forum participation, throughout the Days of Kazakh Medicine in Uzbekistan, doctors from the National Center for Neurosurgery actively conducted patient consultations, performed surgeries, and delivered lectures to Uzbek colleagues in Bukhara and Tashkent. Prof. Serik Akshulakov personally led lectures and patient consultations, sharing the expertise of the Kazakh neurosurgical school. The conclusion of the program marked not just the end of the visit but the beginning of long-term collaboration between the medical communities of the two countries.
