   Under the leadership of the Department of Education monthly meetings of the journal club are held in the National Center for Neurosurgery.
The meeting was attended by resident doctors of the specialty "Neurosurgery, including pediatric neurosurgery" and "Neurology, including pediatric neurology”, teachers, the head of the research management department and doctors of clinical departments.
   The purpose of the journal club is to familiarize with the advanced scientific literature, training to evaluate critically the latest scientific publications.
Residents share interesting and relevant news and the latest scientific discoveries, innovations in the field of neurosurgery and neurology, submit scientific publications and guidelines published in international journals for discussion.
   Clinical mentors, who act as reviewers, identify the strengths and weaknesses of the reports, discuss the possibilities of introducing innovations into the routine practice.
    The Journal Club meetings are held according to the schedule in Kazakh, Russian and English languages.
    In 2020 as well as applying all sanitary and epidemiological standards, 8 meetings were held in face-to-face and online formats.These sessions significantly expand the knowledge of residents, contribute to the improvement of presentation skills and self-study.
