Pathology department
The department consists of two divisions: a pathomorphological laboratory (histology and immunohistochemistry) and a morgue. The priority area of the pathological anatomy department is the intravital study of surgical-biopsy biomaterial at various structural levels.
The main research methods in the department are:
-
macroscopic;
-
histological (express and planned);
-
immunohistochemical;
-
molecular genetic.
In 2013, the department introduced an immunohistochemical research method using a wide panel of diagnostic antibodies.
Since 2021, on a contractual basis with the Laboratory of Personalized Genomic Diagnostics of the BMC UDP RK, molecular genetic studies have been carried out using MLPA, PCR and sequencing methods, which allows for accurate diagnosis of the tumor process and determination of prognostic factors.
A lot of work is also being done to form a biobank (cryobank), with the collection of biomaterial samples (blood, tumor tissue fragments) for subsequent scientific research.
Head of the Department - Dr. Berik Zhetpisbayev, pathologist of the highest category.
